How long do you film for? Do you have time limits? We do not give time limits that many videographers list in their packages. Keep that in mind when comparing pricing. We start filming before you before you walk out the Temple doors all the way until your exit after the reception. We feel that giving time limits just causes un-needed stress on your wedding day. We have shot weddings where the photographer leaves the reception before all the "traditions" are even done! We believe you will find our pricing to be reasonable for the quality of our videos. We charge per event not based on time. Instead of 1 hour at the wedding and 1 hour at the reception and missing the rest we are there to capture all the special moments of your day.
How long will my wedding video be? It depends on what events we cover, how many events we cover, and how long each event is. Another factor is if we are filming with one or two cameras - your video will be significantly longer with 2 cameras at the reception. Our Temple Wedding & Reception video ends up being around 10-15 minutes.
Typically there are 3 sections (though could be more) :
1- “Family” waiting outside the Temple, Bride & Groom coming out of the Temple, & Family Pictures
2- “Together” just the bride & groom on the Temple grounds
3- “Reception” until the send off
Please see our Videos section to see actual lengths of videos we have done. It really is up to you how long your wedding video is. A determining factor is how much time you have for us to film just the two of you on the Temple grounds, and also for the reception it depends on what is happening. We have had up to 4 sections (songs) of just the reception because the chosen songs were shorter songs and/or there was a lot of action! Each event is normally edited down to one song (around 3 minutes - the length of the song you choose). On your wedding day inclement weather, sickness, or limited time can dramatically shorten your wedding video (which is why we recommend a pre-shoot or filming "Groomals." We have had to cut songs down if we don’t have enough footage to work with.) In filming/editing it is usually a 20-1 ratio meaning if we shoot 60 minutes worth of footage we will edit it down to 5-10 minutes or 2 songs. Our films are meant to be more of a cinematic movie-feel, so we use only the best of the footage to create your film.
If you want your wedding video to be longer it is possible we just need to know in advance. Please realize that when we extend your wedding video it is less cinematic. Instead of only taking the best footage we use more shots so there could be clips with talking, gum-chewing, frowning faces, interference, and usually shots with your photographer in it as we are working side by side with your photographer who is getting her shots as well. Your finished video will end up being longer, but not look as much like those examples on our website. What we can do is give you all the raw, un-cut, un-edited footage (see below).
Can I have all the raw footage (un-cut, un-edited video)? Yes, you can have the actual tapes at no charge (Professional Mini DV tapes). Or for $100 we can put all your raw un-edited footage on DVD (we do cut out the obvious un-useable shots though). It is more of a documentation of the wedding day, but this way you can see everything that happened on your wedding day and not just the "pretty" stuff! We also can set it all to music if wanted (we would need additional songs for this and the footage is just put to music not edited to go to the music.)
How much time should I allow for filming on my wedding day? As much as you can! The more footage we have the better your video will look (again, we edit down up to an hour’s worth of footage down to a 5-10 minute segment). If you can allow 1 1/2 hours that would be best. A lot of brides have a luncheon to go to immediately following the Temple which will give you less photos with your photographer and less footage with your videographer. But it is your wedding day, whatever time you have is what we will work with! We recommend a Pre-shoot or "Groomals" to ensure that we have enough footage of just the two of you.
Do you do same day edit? No, unfortunately we do not do same-day edit. We can, however, do a Photo Montage DVD picture slideshow to play at the reception if needed. The reason we don’t do same-day edit is because we don’t simply edit clip to clip to clip like some videographers. Our artistic editing style is edited to the music as well as with a cinematic feel. We take clips and edit them in where it looks the best, so it’s not necessarily in order. It usually takes a full week to edit one wedding video. Also even if we wanted to do same-day edit there is usually not enough time between filming the at the Temple grounds and the Reception.
When will I get my Wedding Video back? Usually your wedding video is finished 3 months after your wedding. As soon as your wedding video is completed we will email or call you to let you know and arrange a time that we can hand-deliver your DVD's (if out of the area we will mail your DVD’s to you.) There are times when we get a bit further out on editing depending upon how many weddings we are doing, but we will let you know so you aren't wondering. We strive to get your wedding video back to you as quickly as we can, but we will not "rush-edit" as we put our best work into making your wedding video a piece of art and something you will want to watch over and over again!
What will my Wedding Video look like? Every bride & groom is different so every wedding video will be unique. We do get some similar shots, but it really depends on you and your wedding day. The music you choose that can really change the feel and look of your wedding video and affects the editing process. The mood of your video depends on you as well. If it's all formal your video will have a more serious feel, but if it's just a big party it will portray that on the screen. Again, your music definitely plays a big part as well. If you've chosen all soft love songs your video will have that serious feel; if you choose fun, upbeat music your wedding video will be fun as well. When Klint edits your footage he goes through the music you've given us and chooses the best music to go with the footage. When hiring us to do your wedding video you give Klint creative power in filming and editing. In a sense we need your trust to let us do our job. When you hire us you don't need to stress we will be there to shoot your special day and then produce for you the best wedding video possible. Please view some of our videos for examples of our work. We do not post all the wedding video on our website, so if you would like to see more of our work please just let us know.
Can you film my Bridals/Groomals? Yes, we actually prefer it that way! A pre-shoot is always best because on the day of your wedding you may be rushed for time, be feeling sick, or have inclement weather. We have had several experiences where we wish we had a pre-shoot with the couple because of all the reasons above. Just think about how the weather could be on your wedding day (30 degrees or 90 degrees, rain, snow) and you probably won't last long taking pictures outside! Yet your wedding only happens once! Shooting your Groomals is an added event, but it ensures that we have enough footage to produce the best "together" video possible; it is also more relaxed because we are not rushing to go to a luncheon or reception afterwards, and we can be at a different location if wanted. We understand the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride in her dress until on the wedding day, so we also could film another time after the wedding if needed.
Do you film any other events?
Yes, we can film any event you wish! Engagement session, Bridals/Groomals, or even if you want to add your "Love Story" (where we can go to the place of your choice to film you and your fiancé telling how you met, tell of your dating "love story", and even how you got engaged.)
Do I get to choose the songs in my wedding video? Yes! This is YOUR wedding video and you get to choose the songs. Please provide a CD with the songs you want your wedding video edited to.
What songs should I choose for my wedding video? When choosing music you want to pick songs that go with the atmosphere of a wedding. The songs should mean something to both you and your fiancé. Usually we use the slower love songs for the Temple grounds footage and use the fun, faster music for the reception footage.
Can you get interviews with my family and friends at the reception? Absolutely! It is always fun to see and hear what they thought of your wedding day and all the well wishes for you. We would put these interviews in the “extras” section on your wedding video. To add interviews it would be an additional $50, but if you have already added a second camera & videographer for $150 there is no additional charge. The reason for the $50 is for the second videographer to get the interviews only - that way we aren't missing the action of the reception because we are off interviewing.
Do you use 2 Cameras to film? We can use two cameras for an additional $150 which also includes a second videographer to shoot. By using a second camera we are able to capture more of your day as well as getting a different perspective. The added price is not a lot when you realize that we are capturing more footage, but on our end it takes twice as long in the editing process. Our best (and longest) reception videos are done with 2 cameras that way we are getting many more shots of your guests and our main videographer can focus more on the bride & groom.
How many DVD copies of my Wedding Video will I receive? Can I get extra copies? We give you 3 copies of your wedding video with custom cases & custom printed DVD's. Additional copies are available for up to one month after your wedding video is finished for $10 each (we recommend ordering extras in advance – they make great gifts!)
Do you do the Photo Montage Picture Slideshow DVD to play at the Reception? Yes, and is included in our Wedding & Reception package at no charge. The Photo Montage will also be added to your final DVD in the “extras” section. Added separately the Photo Montage is $50 up to 150 photos. Please provide pictures on a CD in order. If you need photos scanned it is $.50 per photo. If you would like to see examples of some we have done please just let us know.
Will you travel out of Utah to film my wedding? Yes, we are happy to travel to you! There will be travel expenses figured into the cost just email us so we can figure you a quote. We love going somewhere new and shooting at different locations and Temples.
